Alumna Supports Scholarships and Professorship with an Estate Gift

Jennifer Manner ’86 and Dr. Eric Glasgow

Jennifer Manner ’86 fell in love with the architecture at SUNY Albany at 9 years old while accompanying her sister on a college visit. “I thought it was the most beautiful school ever,” she says. “I decided to go to Albany then.” She went on to earn both her J.D. and LL.M. and enjoy a successful career in global communications policy and spectrum management in the government and private sector. Today, she is the Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and International Strategy at AST SpaceMobile, an award-winning film producer, director, and author.

To help future students benefit from the same life-changing education she received, Jennifer and her husband, Dr. Eric Glasgow, have arranged a bequest for the University in their estate plan to support scholarships and an endowed professorship for Rockefeller College. “We don’t have children and expect to have funds available when we die,” she says. “We want to help the next generations.”

As a student, Jennifer participated in Young Dems, the political science association, theatrical productions, student government, and the racquetball club. She remains connected with the University through her service on the Alumni Association Board and prior service on the Rockefeller College Dean’s Advisory Board. She has also mentored many UAlbany students.

“Rockefeller College is a special place,” Jennifer says. “I am excited for the students who go through the program and they need resources. Education is essential to the country’s future and having state schools lead the way is critical.”

Jennifer encourages others to consider a legacy they could leave to future students. “We need to keep the type of education and scholarship that Rockefeller College has provided alive for future generations,” she concludes. “We cannot let funding cuts mean an end to quality education and opportunities.”
